Volunteer Services of Catholic Community Services

About

Volunteer Services is a program of Catholic Community Services that matches volunteers with a low-income elder or adult living with a disability. Our mission is to assist low-income elders and adults with chronic illnesses or disabilities remain independent in their own home. Often, the difficulty of accomplishing simple chores gets in the way of an elder being able in their own home full of memories: we work to assist such clients in staying independent and connected.

A typical experience would be going once a week to an individual's home to vacuum, dust, and help with other light housework. Volunteers may also help with chores such as grocery shopping, yard work, etc. In addition to the practical support, the friendly visit does wonders to ease loneliness and help seniors maintain connections with the community.
