Seattle University Youth Initiative (SUYI)

The Seattle University Youth Initiative (SUYI), housed in the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) strives to strengthen education and support systems for neighborhood youth and their families while enhancing the University through community engagement opportunities. In partnership with families, schools and community organizations, the goal of the Seattle University Youth Initiative is to ensure that youth graduate from high school and are prepared to succeed in college and in life.

Requirements for working with youth:

• Fill out a volunteer application
• Agree to a risk release (completed in the volunteer app)
• Complete a background check (you will receive a link via email)
• Complete mandated reporting training
• Complete online sexual misconduct prevention training
• Attend onsite orientation (dates for these are listed inside the volunteer app)
• Attend a racial equity workshop
